Did you get your child's supply list for school yet?

I got my daughters supply list about a week ago. She's going to Pre-K. I was expecting a lot( colors, glue, wipes, Kleenx, etc.) No! None of that! Her list consisted of:
Paper Plates
2 Boxes Of Kleenx
Gallon Zip Lock bags
The End!

What does your child need? Is it what you expected?

  • Just an FYI on those prepackaged school supplies, they are a whole lot more expensive than going to the store and getting it yourself. My son's elementary school did that 1 time and stopped because no one would buy again, it was too expensive.

I just got most of what was on my son's list for 8th grade and I spent $13. He needs just a few more things and I would say it will cost about $15 more. When he was in elementary school and had huge lists I didn't spend more than $40 on supplies.

  • My daughter is going into the 2nd grade. The list was very long, and we had the option of pre ordering it for $65, and we went ahead and did that. For me to get all the things on the list, I would have to drive to at least 3 different places, and then i wasn't even sure i would be able to save anything by getting the items myself. The pre ordered package is also approved by the school and that way I know that we won't be missing anything.

  • My son is going into 4th grade. However, we won't know until the week before school. I told him already he isn't getting a new pencil box. I may even go through what he had from last year and just supply what he really needs such as notebooks, folders, and binders.
