Any suggestions on getting nail polish out of my 3 year olds hair? Of course he does it the day before family photos! Ugggg!

  • You could try using baby oil and see if the dried polish will slide out - like you would to remove gum. Using ice might work, too.

    Or a non-acetone nail polish remover if all else fails.

    Once the nail polish has dried it actually shouldn't be too difficult to remove - in fact, unless it is a big knotted up mess, you *might* be able to slide it from the hair without using oil or chemicals.

  • But just use a towel to sponge the affected part with nail polish remover.

  • The ice and the acetone, has yet to work. The biggest problem? The polish is red! :P

  • soak his hair in rubbing alcohol then let conditioner set for 5-10 minutes then rinse and wash like normal...my DSD did the same thing the day of school pics lol...ah the joy of kids.

  • HAHAHAHA my 2 year old did that a few weeks ago, but we ended up getting his head buzzed because that was the weekend before we moved and everything was in boxes. Sorry, don't mean to laugh, but we just went through that too.
