would u consider me obese?

i'm about 5'5". I was about 145 pre-preggo, size 11 in pants, went up to 206 at 9 months preggo, went down to 186 after delivery and was a size 18. I am now 15 months post partum and weight about 175, and a size 16. It hasnt been easy to get toned up or lose more weight. But I am physically active with my toddler, I walk a lot, do yoga (not everyday, but I should!), and I eat rather healthy...I feel better about myself when i wear clothes that actually fit my figure (too tight I have muffin tops, too loose I look bigger...)...would you consider me obese? or big/curvy and "healthy"?

  • For ur height I would say u r overweight boarder line obese. But it is all about how u feel about yourself. How is ur blood pressure?

If u feel good about yourself and u r healthy then dont listen to n e body else

  • Personally I'd love to be your size. I'm shorter than you so that makes a difference. I think you are a great size and a healthy size. You can check you BMI online if you really worry about being the dreaded word "obese". I hate that word. Just google BMI calculator (for Body Mass Index)

  • Obese: Well above ones normal weight. A person has traditionally been considered to be obese if they are more than 20 percent over their ideal weight. That ideal weight must take into account the person's height, age, sex, and build.

With that definition I would also do a google search for BMI.

If you're really concerned just keep being active and the weight will eventually come off.

  • thanks for the answers so far ladies!! sometimes I need an esteem boost. I dont sit around pitying myself all day eating bon bons and watching oprah lol but i'm not exactly working up a sweat doing pilates everyday either. I certainly could use the motivation to do the latter!

There's a difference in your body fats.

That being said, you probably have a pretty high body fat percentage. I'd be willing to say you are at least overweight, if not obese. I don't go off weight alone, but 175 is high for 5'5". (I'm a personal trainer)
