Honey and babies.......

I know your not suppose to give babies honey until they are two but what about products with honey in them such as honey nut cheerios where the honey is baked in? Wouldn't that kill the botulism??

  • According to the American Academy of Pediatrics babies under a year should not eat honey or anything made with honey.

  • Like the pp stated, its anything under a year for honey is a no no. From what I've read if they are over a year old its ok. But IMO, if you are cooking the honey in something like you mentioned, it should be ok.. I think it'd still be iffy under 12 mos though.

  • I've asked a doctor this and I was told that in cereal and stuff like that it's cooked and processed and it's OK. Ask your pediatrician to find out for sure.
