  • Lol! My 2nd born was 10 months old and I had eggplant for dinner. It caused major issues for him and he was in a ton of pain. The next day he refused to nurse. I would show him my breast and he would start screaming and try to get out of my lap. It took us 2 days for him to finally take a bottle!! I did pump and he started drinking that, but he never would breastfeed again! My daughter recently (9 months) figured out a bottle and tried to refuse me! She liked the ease of a bottle. I just didn't give her another bottle for a few days until she was willing to nurse mostly on me.

  • Yup I have been through nursing strikes before. Try nurisng at night, and if you are doing solids drop them back some. I had one strike last about a week. Baby will regain interest. I suggest one of the breastfeeding groups on here.

  • Its called a nursing strike if its before 12 months, no baby will naturally wean before 12 months unless too many bottles, other liquids or solids are given.

Over 12 months yeah they do that its weaning, under 12 months refuse anything but the breast...

  • I don't about no baby naturally weaning before 12 months. My daughter stopped nursing at 10 months. She wouldn't take a bottle either. I could get her to nurse some at night, but not much and she never went back to nursing normally, she would only nurse for maybe a minute and then start biting me and pushing me away after that. I tried for 2 more months until she was a year old. I also tried giving her formula, goats milk, and I think maybe rice milk because I was worried about her needing something, but she wouldn't really take any of it. I think she did drink some water though. So anyway, I say my daughter self weaned at 10 months.
