  • I guess it depends on what you define standards as.
    According to most of my friends, I married someone below my "standards". I am prettier, smarter and nicer than he is. lol. He is a great guy though, and he treats me like a queen. I couldn't love another man more.

  • I married someone who I had thought was beneath me since kindergarten. We met as adults and I thought I'd give him a chance. And it ended horribly.

  • one with someone below my standards is 1 day to many. sadly i have done it in the past but when i grew up that stopped.

  • I married below the std my parents set for me. You'd have thought they would give me credit for divorcing him but nope. They threw it up in my face for years. Oh well, they are dead now and I'm single and happy. That's what matters

  • In high school I dated a guy who was just not for me. I guess you could say he was not really suited for me or as you put it, "not up to my standards." He was not that bright, not an idiot but not exactly college material. He was controlling and sometimes just not nice. Casual put downs. I'm not sure why I dated him for the time that I did. It did teach me a very valuable lesson and I NEVER dated anyone who was remotely like that after.
