  • As a Christian I believe that all our choices have consequences, either good or bad.

"Don't be misled. Remember that you can't ignore God and get away with it. You will always reap what you sow! Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful desires will harvest the consequences of decay and death. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So don't get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time." Galatians 6:7-9

We reap what we sow. That is why God tells us not to do certain things. It is because He doesn't want us to suffer the natural consequences that come from those things. Sins aren't bad because God told us not to do them, God told us not to do them because they are bad. He love us so much He wants us to have that which is good.

  • negative consequences befall those that feel guilty for what they have done.. thus bringing the negative energy upon themselves. If there is no guilt, the only consequence that can befall them, is the law in their own cultures.

  • ever hear of learning from your mistakes? some actions are met with negative consequences. one may feel guilty, usually if the consequence only begets more negativity. or one may blame someone else for their own bad decisions/actions. or..you can stop doing the same thing that caused the negative consequence in the first place..learn from it.

  • you have to have them to appreciate the possitive things in life. you bring them unto yourself by your free will, choice to do things that bring them on or not. when you do choice to do wrong then the consequences hurt you enough to hopefully make you learn from them and then in return helps you see why maybe you should follow the gospel or follow to go by the golden rule. do unto others as you have done unto you. i think it's a good thing cause if not neg consequences then everyone would most likely do evil on a more regular basis.

  • Consequences for our actions, whether good or bad, teach us something. They either teach us to do something, or not to do something, and give us a reason why or why not to do so. They help to condition our behaviour.

Its up to us to decide whether we want to learn the lesson or not, I guess. And different people apply this concept of consequence differently - either as karma, or God's wrath/reward, or mere natural happening. I don't think what you apply it to matters, as long as it doesn't hinder you in any way from retaining the lesson, if you get what I mean.

  • Cause and effect... For every action, there is a reaction - the laws of Newton

weather that action is positive or negative... there is still a consequence
