When you were a first-time mom, did you slow down and enjoy your baby or anticipate every next milestone?

Almost every mom I've talked to says they rushed their first born into doing things "just because" they were anxious to see them do it. Then they say they slowed down with the next baby, and didn't want that baby to grow up. My mom is a prime example, she says she couldn't wait for my older brother to walk and talk, but she wanted me to remain a baby FOREVER.

I'm 21 and I sometimes think she still wishes I was a baby. -.-

  • No, I worked to have them learn as much as they could, since I felt that the more they learned the more they could learn.

  • I did try to rush my oldest, wish I hadn't now. With my other kids I did try to enjoy each stage. With my 4th one I really babied her, she is 14 now, but still my baby! I really wish I could get those baby years back with my kids.

  • I haven't rushed her with anything, however, I wish there was a way to rush her out of this teething stage before I go crazy :)

  • With each of my 3 daughters I anticipated their next milestones and celebrated each one.
Now that I'm a grammy raising my infant granddaughter I don't want her to grow up...lol...I am just sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying every moment of pleasurable time I have with her because I know she will grow and the baby days will be gone forever.
