Baby Sitter Pay?

I have a baby sitter coming for the first time. How much should I pay her per hour? She has great experience with infants and good references. My son is 10 months.

  • It really depends on the age and experience. Negotiate a set price for each hour. Say something around $8/hour up to 4 hours, and for each additional hour $10... just as an example...

An older lady with more experience should be paid more than a teen...

  • Ask her what her rate is. You want the person taking care of your child to feel well compensated. When I was a babysitting it was 10$ an hour for two kids 15$ for three. I once had someone hand me a few dollars and change for 4 hours, when they called in the future I wasn't available.
