How can I keep from getting migraines after sex?

I am 2months post hysterectomy and the two times I have had intercourse with my husband has resulted in a horrible migraine. I don't want to say anything to him about it, because I want to have sex. Is there anything I can do to keep from getting the migraine? This has never happend before my surgery.

  • Stop hitting your head on the headboard?/ LOL!! Sorry, I am in a slap happy mood. Honestlly, try different positions, take a couple Ibuprofen before sex. I would also talk to your OB/GYN or primary doctor.

  • Honestly I don't know much about this but my best advice would to maybe take some tylenol a little before you think you are going to have sex. I know this might be difficult because you won't always know when you are going to have sex, but it's worth a shot. I would talk to your doctor about it as well.

  • Try different positions. I get migraines all the time and certain sexual positions seem to make them flair up while other positions dont.

  • Please talk to a doctor. You might need to be evaluated for migraine medications.
