  • You really need to get down on the floor and start sniffing it. If you can't find the spot, you'll really need to shampoo the whole carpet. In the future--they sell blacklights at Petsmart for finding pet stains, but they probably cost almost as much as renting a rug doctor.

  • To get pet smell out you are going to have to wash it with a carpet machine. Afterwards get some "OdorBan" and soak your entire game room carpet with it (using a spray bottle) and letting it dry.

  • I think it is probably more down into your carpet padding as well.. To completely get the smell gone you would probably need to pull up the carpet and replace the padding, then have the entire carpet cleaned.
Otherwise, for what you are trying to do, Id suggest going to a place like PetSmart and seeing if they have anything there.

  • when our roommates moved out the whole room smelled like dog and cat pee. we shampooed with lots of white vinegar and the generic carpet cleaner for pet odors. we went over it twice and opened the windows. the smell was pretty much gone, but they left behind fleas that we could not get rid of- so we had to pull up the carpet. also, you may want to measure you room and go to lowes. We found carpet in the remnant sectionthat fit our room and was surprisingly affordable.
