  • the only time you ever really hear about the cord snapping in really never unless your in labor and your pushing.....but even then i doubt it can happen

  • if the cord is around baby's neck you wouldn't feel anything - its inside the womb in the fluid.

you could have a sleepy baby.

but i am pretty sure that at an u/s they'd see the cord around the neck.

  • if you havent felt your baby move, there is a possibilty theres something wrong. you can call your doctor and they will let you come in and listen to the heartbeat to make sure the babys okay. i did this once while i was pregnant because i hadent felt him move, but it was fine. so dont freak out but go check just incase.

  • I think thats a load of crap. But when i started getting about that far into my pregnancy the movements went down alot. Your baby could just be more active at night and you sleep through it. But if you are worried then call your doc. Drink some juice and that should get the little one movin agian. Dont stress yourself out by what alot of people tell you that is worse then what they are saying COULD not will happen. Good luck

  • My middle son's cord was wrapped around him twice during my labour (and before as well) and it did not "snap". The cord is very tough, have you ever seen them cutting through it? It's hard to cut through. There are many explanations as to why you are feeling less movement, sleepy baby, if you are busy you'll notice it less, baby moves more at night when you are sleeping. If you are that concerned talk to your Dr or midwife about it, they will be able to put your mind at ease.

  • It is normal for the baby's movement to slow down as you enter the third trimester. It's just running out of room in there. As other moms have said, the baby isn't going to snap the umbilical cord. If you are doing the kick tests and baby's movement levels are low enough that you are concerned, talk to your provider about it, but don't worry about baby snapping the cord.
