How old was your kid(s) when they had their first solid food? What was it?

  • 6 months old. He was teething REALLY bad. Poor kid always got three teeth at a time. My friends dad said to give him a Cheeto puff. I did and he sucked and slobbered on that for 10 mins. Helped him keep his mind off of it.

  • Six months it was mac n cheese and mash potatoes (not on the same day of course)

  • Solid as in non baby food?

    Probably around 10-11mths....mashed potatoes.

  • Amaranth361, solid food means anything other than breastmilk or formula.

    My oldest had rice cereal at 6 months and hated it. He got pureed baby foods after that.
    My second had a tiny chunk of watermelon at 6 1/2 months. He sucked on it for a wile then spit it out.

  • Ok, just had to be sure. Ive heard the term used for baby foods as well as meaning only "table" foods.

    Mine had their first at 4-5mths then and it was either Sweet Potatoes or Squash(cant recall which LOL).

    Table foods came later LOL.
