  • Not at all. They are recommended because breastmilk doesn't contain Vit D. But a little sunshine every day handles that need.

Never gave them. My doc doesn't recommend them.

  • I already looked up what it is and its not needed. A couple of minutes of sunshine a day should do the trick. I've never given my babies any kind of supplement at all.

  • I didn't do vitaims unless my duaghter was sick. She would get anemic then. Some docs worry about lack of vitaims in breastmilk, but my doc never pushed it.

  • BM has everything a baby needs as long as they get a couple minutes of sunshine a day. Otherwise vitamins are useless.

  • Mothers do not make vitamins A, C or D so that is why they tell you to give the vitamins. The breastfed baby does get some of this vitamin through the breast milk if the mother gets extra in her diet but seldom enough to satisfy the national requirements by the time the baby is 6 monts old. It's more important after 6 months until they are eating enough of a variety of food with these vitamins to get the required amount.
