Please give me some advice on how to find a part-time job!

Hi, everyone.

I'm married for about a year, no children.

I'm currently living in Colorado springs.

I will be back to college this fall and I need some extra money for living expenses.

I've been trying to find a part-time job, and I don't know where to start.

I don't have any special skills or talents.(That's so sad.)

But I can be a cashier or entry level work.

Can you please give me some advice how to find part-time jobs?

Should I go to stores to find out if there are any openings or

look through local news papers?

How do you all find part-time jobs?

Share some secrets with me!

Thanks :)

P.S. Oh, it would be great if I could work at home on-line but
I'm afraid it would be all scam.
But if you truly know how to earn some extra money on-line
then, please let me part of it,too.

  • Your local paper is a good start and many businesses take online applications. You can also go by any place of business and ask to fill out an application. If they aren't hiring they will tell you right then.

However, make sure if you go into any business to apply that you are dressed and act professionally. Just because you are only picking up an application doesn't mean you should do so in your flip flops and short-shorts. And take your own pen with you. There is nothing worse than someone who asks to fill out an application and then has to ask for a pen to complete the form.

    Good Luck!

  • I would start by going to your local community college. Become certified in Microsoft office products, especially Word and Excel. Take a couple of basic bookkeeing classes. Then you can easily get an office job (work on your typing speed, too)
