  • YES! As long as you still have breasts it can be done. Won't be EASY but it CAN be done.

Google "relactation," for starters. Stop by the Breastfeeding Moms group too...we have a couple of successful relactators.

  • My friend started re-lactating at 18 months..after stopping at 3. SHe wasn't trying to nurse again. It just happened

  • Pump every 2-3 hours, take 9-12 fenugreek daily, get them to the breast as soon as possible...a supplimental nursing system should help with that, meet with a LC. Theres many groups here for BFing and even one for FFers wanting to relactate

  • Anon why in god's green earth would you put down a mother for rethinking their decision and choosing what is right??? I can be called a bf nazi most of the time but that statement was beyond uncalled for. You go mama for deciding to do your best to continue!!

  • Absolutely, mama! You are making such a good choice by even trying! The big thing is to try and get baby back to the breast. Here's a good place to start for information:

  • I love it when people talk crap but are too big of a coward to not do so with their name showing. (this is for the first anon) You should be proud of your opinions...or were you just hoping to start drama?

  • Hi there, it's definitely possible as you have been informed, lol. Definitely check out the kellymom link on relactation. Keep in mind it can be a slow process to get a good supply going, but so worth it. Count on it taking at least the same amount of time that you haven't been breastfeeding, so in your case about 2 months or so.
There's a breastfeeding support group for moms of twins that would be a good place for you to get support. I am the owner of the group that kyriesmommy13 linked for you. Please do check it out. Breastfeeding twins isn't such an easy task, especially if they are your first children. Congratulations on your decision to relactate! All the best of luck to you!
