  • Eggs, cream or milk, salt, cinnamon, vanilla well beaten together. Soak bread slices, transfer to griddle.. For kids I use white bread, for special occaisions I slice Kings Hawaiin bread.

  • Depends on my mood. Sometime I add eggnog, sometimes I use flavored coffee creamers. Sometimes I add almond or rum extract. One of the reasons I love making french toast is because the possibilities are endless.

  • Best French Toast Ever

2 large apples - peeled, cored and sliced
    3 Tbsp butter or margarine
    2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup dry sweetener of your choice
    1/4 cup maple syrup
    1 cup apple juice
1/2 cup non milk (plant or animal)
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (plant or animal)
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
4-6 thick slices of day old bread

In a saucepan, cook the apples in the margarine until they start to soften. Add the cinnamon, dry sweetener, syrup and cook until the apples are nice and soft. Pour into the bottom of an 8x8 baking pan. In a large bowl, mix remaining ingredients except bread. Dip the bread into the milk/yogurt mix and layer on top of the apple mix. Pour the remaining milk mixture over the top. Cover and refrigerate.

In the morning, preheat the oven to 350 F. uncover the baking dish and bake for 35-40 minutes

  • I only make french toast once a year.... but whole milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and maple syrup.

Then I let the whole mess soak overnight in the fridge.

Oh, I know it's SOOOO bad for me.... that's why it's a once a year treat!

  • I soak the slices in egg, milk, vanilla, honey, and pureed carrots (baby food jar). Then I press it into wheat germ. Load the pan with butter, and fry away. The end product is lightly crunchy on the outside, and soft in the inside. We like to dip it in warmed peanut butter syrup.

Mmmmm............I think I'll go make some now......
