Baby's irritated chin

My daughter is almost 10 months old and since she's been teething and eating alot more adult food I've noticed her chin is really dry and a little red. I've religiously tried lotion, Lansinoh, cocoa butter, and now olive oil and they all help a little but never really clear it up completely. I feel sorry for her because I'm sure it's a little sore. I was just wondering what other moms have used. Thanks!

  • aquafor or a and d ointment clear. Its chapped skin due to the constant moisture so lotions will make it worse. You need a protective barrier, and even vaseline would work.

  • It's Drool Dermatitus. My DD had it and her pedi gave us a prescription for ointment. It cleared up in about 2 days. I didn't try any of the suggestions the other ladies have offered. But if they say those things work, I'm sure they do!

  • I use breastmilk. It clears up any skin irritation. I even use it on my acne. It works better than any medication I have ever used.

  • Well I ended up buying Aquaphor (the baby kind) and it cleared her chin up in under 2 days! I was amazed. Thanks ladies!
