can I freeze canned vegetables?

If I don't finish a whole can's worth of say peas, corn, beets, etc, can I store the remainder in a different container and freeze them for later? If I can, is there a timeline to stick to? Do I freeze the water it comes in too? Or can I only refrigerate them for a few days?

  • You can put in a rubbermaid type container in the fridge for a couple of days. I would think you could freeze them too for a few months.

  • Yes, you can freeze the leftovers. They will last in the refrigerator covered for a couple of days, but about a month or two in the freezer.
