  • try try try to pay in cash whenever you can, and try to see where you can save money
whatever you save in groceries, car, clothes, etc.....pay that amount to yourself . put it in the bank.
If you were going to spend 20.00, but found a coupon and only spent 17.00, put the 3.00 into a jar, into savings whatever. this is the most amazing method. Once you pay something off, keep paying yourself the amount you paid. that is how i got a brand new car, i paid off my old one and kept paying myself the payment for a few years. amazing.

  • Good question. I guess it would be saving by not spending. Cutting out all extras, every one, so that the amount of loss is lower.

  • Cut back on small things. See if you can get wic, so you're not paying for milk and juice all the time, that would help.
    Make kool aid
    hamburger helper is cheap
    cut down on snacks
    drink water
get things you need from thrift stores or craigslist
knit your own blankets (lol, j/k)

  • Good question. In the past we have cut back on everything to the point where when people would visit, it would be a few days and they would literally bring us food. Still we had no money in saving.

  • In order to make more money to save, you have two choices:

Cut down on what you are currently spending money on,

    or

Bring more money into the household.

That's about the only two ways, short of winning the lottery or robbing a bank.

  • I think we're all pretty much struggling with Saving now. I know we can't seem to save a penny for anything.

  • Good idea. I don't have enough money to pay my bills and can't cut back anymore than I already am. Savings is a luxury that I just don't have at this time.
