How long did it take for people to feel you baby move on the outside?

Especially you 'Big boned' Mammas? Just curious. I feel my boy moving but cant wait for my DH to be able to feel him too

  • o i was gonna say it depends on how much belly fat you have, but in my experience if i was laying on my back and baby gave a good strong kick then it was around 22/23 weeks. i'm size 14/16 before pregnancy

  • I am a size 22 pre-pregnancy, and I thought it would take a LOT longer to feel kicks from the outside. Laying down, I felt my first kick with my hand the day before I turned 22 weeks, and my boyfriend felt it the day after 22 weeks. Now I am 29 weeks, and have probably only been feeling kicks on the outside for a few weeks unless I am laying down on my back. It won't be long momma!

  • I weighed 213 pre-pregnancy, so yes I am a little more than "Big boned" haha, anyway- around 29 (224lbs) weeks I felt him from the outside, and around 31 weeks I SAW him moving VERY clearly from the outside.

  • I'm big boned, (size 14/16) with my first i saw my belly jump around 20/21 weeks. this is my second now and i saw him move around 19 weeks from the outside. I'm actually sitting here right now watching my belly wave from him moving so much I'm almost 23 weeks now.

  • I was size 14 before I was pregnant with my first and I started feeling her move around 13-14 weeks. But I am also carrying her very far forward..

the dr. said that most women won't feel the movements untill between 16-20 weeks.

  • My son was tricky - as soon as Daddy put his hand on my belly, he'd stop moving!  I don't think he actually felt the baby move until near 30 weeks.
