ive never babysat never really been around kids and never saw myself being a big family person.. with that said i love my DD she means the world to me but she will be an only(i was an only as well) cause i dont want a large family. i know how to bond with older kids, but i have NO CLUE on what to do with an 8 month old to entertain her bond with her, she dont like getting held often and so she spents alot of her time on the floor playing with her toys..or we are out and about shopping and that other then that idk what to do.. i feel like a bad mother for it...

  • Your not a bad mom!!! Not knowing what to do does not make you a bad mom, you asked for help so that counts for something. Your 8 month old doesnt want to be held much becasue she is to interested in the environment around her. She is ccurious and wants to explore everyting. You can play with her on the floor, or read books to her, point to pictures and name objects. There are all kinds of fun things you can do with your dd. She also doesn't need entertained every min. of the day. Don't be so hard on yourself!!!!!

  • if you are worries about bonding, you are thinking and feeling it already
when she plays on the floor, do you ever just lay down and just look at her in amazement?

  • Have you ever tried taking a bath with her? some babies love it, some hate it.. My dd loved it & i think it was bonding time for us. Skin to skin contact is great for mom & baby. also you get to play in the water & she gets to explore it.
take her in the yard & let her feel the grass. let her smell flowers- talk to her about it all..
read to her & sing to her especially when laying her down naps.. Also when u feed her use it to your advantage & talk to her & hold her close to you! When changing her diaper or changing her clothes tell her what your doing & point out the parts of her body & always act soo happy to be with her. Always respond when she needs you & try to respond with a positive attitude ..

  • Just hanging with her is bonding! Every moment you spend together is bonding.
