Who is responsible for buying...

The baptismal gown for the baby? The Godparents or the baby's parents? IN this particular case the parents are buying the dinner, cake , and all else. So should the parent's also pay for the baby's gown?

  • I think the parents are supposed to. At least when I was baptized, my mom picked out and bought my dress herself.

  • It is your baby your responsibility, but ask any friends if they can loan you one! I found my sons at a consignment store for about $15! Good luck!

  • My oldest didn't wear a christening gown for his baptism. I think that if you want your baby to wear one, you should pay for it.
