how many calories am i supposed to get a day if i alternate breasfeeding and formula feeding?

i weight 135 pounds and im 5'1 and i really am not that active does anyone have any idea or if there is actually a special calculator on the internet for bf moms?

  • I'm not sure what you mean by alternating between breastfeeding and formula feeding. Do you mean you are doing both? Usually that doesn't work very well unless you are only using a very small amount of formula, like one bottle during the day. Or, are you pumping and feeding your milk by bottle? You can't breastfeed one feeding and then formula feed the next feeding. Your breasts won't be stimulated enough and you won't be able to maintain a supply long term.

    Breastfeeding moms only need to eat a few extra calories a day. One of the good things about breastfeeding is that is can help you loose weight but it is usually slowly.

  • you burn up to 800 calories a day from EXCLUSIVELY breastfeeding, since you arent there is no determining how much you need extra therefore i highly doubt anything more than 100 extra

    why are you doing both? why do something really well for your child only to reverse it by feeding them formula? there really is no point to be formula feeding if you are producing milk right? or am i just talking out my arse here?
