  • I'm not really a big fan of long fingernails, but I don't really notice if people have press on ones or not, so I guess I don't think they look trashy. They just aren't my cup of tea.

  • natural nails aren't square. I think people square off their nails and it looks fake and trashy.

  • Have you seen the press on toe nails?

  • jeanc...
    natural nails aren't square.

I have to disagree with you here. My pinkie, ring, and middle finger nails all grow with a natural squared off edge. My pointer finger and thumb have natural curves to them. The shape of the natural fingernail can vary depending on the length of your finger and width of the nail bed.

  • Now as long as the nails look natural I could care less. What I REALLY think is trashy is the super long nails. Like this

It's even worse on the toes

  • My aunt and grandmother both wear fake nails. They do their own and they do them well. But if they are done poorly, then trashy.

  • is it true that they ruin your nail bed if you use them?

Answer by Guaranteed at 1:34 AM on Aug. 2, 2009

  • They can if it is not done properly or too often. Acrylic nails should be avoided. If you do decide to go acrylic make sure you get the bed filled when the nail grows out so water does not get in between the real nail and acrylic nail.
With artificial nails you glue on (rather than acrylic) you should remove the artificial nail by soaking the nails in acetone and leave them off for a few days before reapplying.
