What is your opinion on the BFing baby doll? would you buy this for your daughter?

http://www.thingamababy.com/baby/2009/07/babyglutton.html
I have boys so i wont be buying this.. I am all for bfing and pan on nursing this time around.. i am not sure though if i would buy this for my daughter.. Maybe an older girl like 7 or 8 if she asked but not a 4 yr old. I will explain BFing to my children and that is natural and fine but i am unsure how i feel about this doll.. just wanted other opinions..

  • I think it's silly. Little girls breastfeed dolls when they are exposed to breastfeeding. I wouldn't buy a special doll just for that, but I don't care if anyone else does.

  • i wouldnt buy a nursing doll for my daughter. if she wants to nurse her dolls thats fine but im not going to buy a doll specifically for the purpose because its a waste of money.

  • I wouldn't buy it, just because i'm not spending that much money when my girls BF the dolls they have anyway, but I think it's cute.

  • From my experience if little girls have been around BFing, they will do it with their dolls, any dolls. I really don't think they need a special doll for this. JMHO.....lol

  • I would not buy this doll. Children really don't need to be pressured into breastfeeding. Children are children. Once they reach sex ed, they can be taught about breastfeeding. There are many things that are natural, ( pooping, peeing, crying constantly) and I wouldn't buy a doll that did those things either.

  • I have to say I would not buy this doll, only because it would be a huge waste of money. The toy is silly. My nieces watch their mother and I breastfeed, and they mimic us. They know how to correctly position a baby for nursing, and they even cover themselves like momma does. They don't need a special doll so they can pretend. I guess I would be interested in seeing the doll, but buying it isn't something I would do.

  • No I would have never purchased that for my daughter when she was a little girl playing with dolls

  • It promotes a natural image of breastfeeding early on. The longer you hide it or the more effort you put into making it seem like something to be hidden, the worse. There is no age group that shouldn't know about breastfeeding since there's nothing inappropriate about it. I'd get my daughter one.
