  • A good trick when doing your own fries is to let them go till they get golden, then take them out and let them rest a bit. ( a few minutes is usually good) Then stick them back in. This keeps them crispy longer. Sometimes homemade fries go limp after you take them out. I just discovered this trick this year myself!

  • It should work, but be careful they may burn easily.

  • Use sweet potatoes (much more nutricious) and bake on a cookie sheet brushed with olive oil (much heather than frying).

  • my mom always made homemade fries but used a deep fryer and they were soooo good.

  • You can also slice the potaotes in spears and mix in olive oil and bake them on a baking sheet and then dump the chili and chees on the fries. YUMMY!!! I do NOT recommend sweet potatoes fries for chili fries, that would be nasty. Also, chili fries are supposed to be an unhealthy food.
