When you're cooking do you follow a recipe or just eyeball ingredients and wing it?

  • I usually eyeball it. If I'm cooking something new, I might follow a recipe, but add my own stuff as I go. Or look at some recipes to get an idea of how to make it and go from there.

  • It just depends. Like with baking cookies, bread, cakes, ect. I do, but other things like meals (meats, pastas, ect.) I don't.

  • I follow the recipe and it drives my husband nuts!! He says it takes too long LOL!

  • I follow the recipe the first time I use one. If I like it I might alter it the next time.

  • Depends on what it is. If it's a soup or stew, I eyeball it. If it's a cake, no way.

  • If I have a recipe, I usually follow it, but if I don't and I'm trying something new, I just eyeball it.

  • Baking, I measure. When I cook, I never measure, I go by sight and taste. That is how I learned how to cook.
