  • You have one day to get pregnant, your ovulation day. Sperm can survive in your body up to something like 5 days, so if you have sex up to 5 days before, the sperm could still be around to fertilize the egg on ovulation day.

  • From the time you ovulate, you have 12-36 hours until that egg is gone. That's why it's better to have the sperm there waiting on the egg, because the egg doesn't wait.
