is weight loss safe

a little over a month before i got pregnant i started gaining weight. Im now 2 months and over the past 3 months ive gained at least 15 lbs. its obviously not all pregnancy related cause i havent been excercizing or eating healthy. would it be safe if i lost a little weight if i started being healthier?

  • well don't go on a diet..just change your eating habits.
I wish I gained weight the first and second trimester. all I was doing was puking all the time.
just try eating more healthier, but do not try lossing the weight.
you wont gain unnecessary weight if you eat right

  • Yes as long as you are eating healthy calories and not the empty ones found in junk.

  • If you are overweight to begin with then losing fat while pregnant is okay, as long as you are still getting the calories you and baby needs to be healthy. I weighed less at 9 months pregnant with my son than when I became pregnant and we were both perfectly healthy. I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant with my second and I'm about 5 pounds lighter than when I became pregnant.

  • i have never heard its safe to lose weight intentionally while pregnant because we store toxins in our fat cells, and when they are burned they are released back into our body

that's what i've been told over and over on here

  • just eat healthy, lots of fruits and veggies. do some light exercise (walking is probably best), don't overwork yourself. you could try counting your calories too. you need 300 extra calories when pregnant so try limiting yourself to 2,300 calories per day. good luck.
