  • Not really. But your chances of having 2 children with blue eyes are pretty good since that's what you got.

  • Actually it's the brown eyed gene that is dominant, doesn't matter if it's the mom or the dad. The stats say that one in four will have blue eyes when you have one parent with brown and one with blue.

  • My youngest two sisters have brown eyes like their dad. I have blue eyes like my mom and my other sister has blue-green.

So...it doesnt have to be the moms color.

  • I'd say your odds are 100% if you have it! :)

But at the simples level, brown eyes are dominate, but if you have blue/brown genes, you can pass down your blue gene so it's a 1/4 change. 2x is a 1/4 X 1/4 or a 1/16 chance of both being blue eyed.

  • Sorry it's a 5/50 chance of one child being blue eye. so a 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/4 chance of both

  • I have 7 kids, I have brown eyes which most of my family does except my mom and one sister, my husband has blue but his family has predominatly brown also.

Three of my kids have blue eyes, although one has VERY blue eyes. One has a steel grey color and 3 have brown. I am pregnant with number 8 and it will be interesting to see what they get cause its' three of the older with brown and my last three babies have the blue/grey color.

  • Both my sons have blue eyes, I have blue eyes. Oldest son's father had brownish black eyes, my youngest son's father has hazel... Both are happy they didn't get the freckle gene.
