Help me to understand this?

Why do people complain that they have no money but yet they go and by their teenager the name brand stuff, nothing wrong there if you got the money.

And then ask for more money from family or the father of the kid (C/S)hmmm?

Something is not right in this picture...

  • Is it what the teenager wants or the custodial parent? Many teenagers want name brands so that they do not get picked on, well most children who are in school want to be cool and fit in with the other children, think of it this way, if the money is spent on the designer clothing you know all the money has gone to the child.

  • If there is a child support agreement in place, then there should not be a need for additional funds.

  • Some people see brand names as being necessary for social status. Maybe they're ashamed of their current economical situation so they're trying to cover it up to the public eye by appearing to be able to afford these luxuries.

I agree that it's not right to spend money on things you can't rightfully afford and then turn around and borrow money from family and friends for the things that money should have been spent on ie:rent, food, bills etc...

Some people just have their priorities all mixed up.

You can say no next time they ask.

  • That's why I would not marry or be involved with some one with children from another woman. That being said, The money is NOT yours, you have no say in how it is spent, as long as it is spent on the child what does it matter? Cost of living increases are rare so don't worry to much.

Most states do NOT take the spouses income into consideration when choosing CS amounts, are you a SAHM and bitter because of the CS that is taken away from your family (not said bitterly honestly, I have a friend with 3 children whose husband who pays out the a$$ and she is frustrated as He!! because she sees it as taking from her family.)
