Why do people think that Chrisitans can not judge them?

the bible says John 7:24

24Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

  • Judge the fruit not the person and how they look.
We are to rightly divide the word in truth and love.
In The Message I love how it bold explains what it means
21-24Jesus said, "I did one miraculous thing a few months ago, and you're still standing around getting all upset, wondering what I'm up to. Moses prescribed circumcision—originally it came not from Moses but from his ancestors—and so you circumcise a man, dealing with one part of his body, even if it's the Sabbath. You do this in order to preserve one item in the Law of Moses. So why are you upset with me because I made a man's whole body well on the Sabbath? Don't be nitpickers; use your head—and heart!—to discern what is right, to test what is authentically right."

  • Because it's not your place to judge. I mean sure you CAN judge me if you like. In fact people do all the time, but it's really annoying if you aren't a court official or god. But hey whatever.

  • Just because the bible says something doesn't mean it's true. That book was written by men, and re-written several more times to serve the purpose of several popes and kings. What right do Christians have to judge anyone?? No right at all.

  • 24Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

it means to judge the sin, not the sinner. Judging the sinner is God's job.

  • There's judging someone as if they were a book cover, or by a "holier than thou" attitude. That's bad.

Then there's important day-to-day judgements that are good to make - who you will date? who you will marry? who you will let babysit your child?

Probably good to weigh out the qualities of a person and judge a little as you make those decisions.

  • That scripture says dont judge based on the outward appearance, PERIOD END OF STORY.

The Divine looks and knows the heart. You cant say that, you are human and are fallible.

The good book also says judge not lest ye be judged.

  • God judges, not people, HE alone, has the final choice.
