When did you ladies stop using baby laundry detergent?

I have a 2 year old, and I'm still using Dreft, my question is , when do you start using the regular laundry soap? I use Tide for my clothes, but I'm a little eskeptical, about using it on my DD's clothes, unless is normal and save.

  • I have never used "special" laundry soap either, I just double rinse their clothes up to a year and depending on how dirty they are. I use Tide, and Gain.. hope that helps momma =)

  • I never used special baby detergent either, I just used what I was already using. Go ahead and switch, just watch for any signs of a reaction, but she should be fine, she'll have been exposed to whatever detergent you use by being up against you in your clothes.

  • You dont ever need to use any special detergent. Its just like the hype with "nursery water" unless your kids have sensitivites then regular soap and distilled water work just fine..

  • I never used baby laundry detergent either and 2 of my 3 boys have ezema. Tide does have an unscented det. if you are skeptical. I don't think it will hurt.

  • We never used Dreft or any other baby detergent. It has too many dyes and perfumes for my comfort. We use All Free & Clear and started using that on her clothes and diapers right away too.

  • I never did for my youngest two, think about it, you do not wash your clothing with it and generally babies have a great deal of contact with at least the mothers clothing, so unless your ped. says to or your baby reacts badly to it why waste money you could spend on them?
