  • dont change the litter box is a big one...there is some sort of chemical in thier poo that could harm the baby...

  • There is a wonderful book that helps with all of those dos and donts. It is called What to Expect When Your Expecting. Its a great reference book that tells what to expect month by month, even how to get ready for labor. I am just trying to help. There are so many dos and don't s of being preg. But do drink plenty of water!!!!

  • DO-drink a lot of water, eat healthy, walk, and get plenty of rest is the most important things to do. also take prenatal vitamins, see an ob/gyn, rub lotion on your belly for no stretch marks, save up money, going to birthing classes, try to only lay on your left side at night, talk to your baby, read a good pregnancy book, tour the hospital at which you will give birth, write down questions for your doctor, read up on circumcision and vaccinations so you can decide early on, take it easy, take lots of pictures, have the nursery ready before the baby gets here! GL!
DONT- drink or smoke, even sencond hand smoke, lay off the caffiene, stay away from any and all chemicals, dont ride rides at carnivals, dont lay on your belly. stay away from hot tubs and really hot showers, dont take certain medications, and try not to worry too much!
Enjoy being pregnant, it is a wonderful experience!

  • I agree with MommyKKay - DO get a good pregnancy book. What to Expect When You're Expecting and Your Pregnancy Week by Week are both good choices.

Do take any classes your hospital provides. We took a childbirth class - that one we had to pay for - a breastfeeding class and a caring for you and baby class, both of which were free. We're taking an infant CPR class next week.

  • educate yourself!!!
start by reading "the thinking woman's guide to a better birth" by henci goer, "spiritual midwifery" and "ina may's guide to childbirth" both by ina may gaskin, and "Birthing from Within: An Extra-Ordinary Guide to Childbirth Preparation" by Pam England
to me, and to many others, what to expect books are a joke. i read it last yr and HATED it.
i say start w/ the henci goer book, bc it gives you facts and helps you choose what and who will be best for you during your pg and for birth (what setting and what provider)
