  • 4 ounces every 3 hours is about right for a 2 month old, he/she could have been eating more during a growth spurt, as for sleeping you will find the baby awake more and more as she gets older...

other than that is she acting like herself, if so she is prob fine. You can call your ped if you get too worried about it.

  • OMG!!! That's horrible!!! She's acting like a normal 2 month old!!

Relax. Go with her flow and let her tell you what, when and how much she needs. You'll both be happier.

  • Be nice this is probably her first baby. I remember worrying about every little thing, but if you feel comfortable asking cafemom before running to the pediatrician, then you should trust your instincts because it's probably no big deal. :]

  • no need to be sarcastic..the only reason i asked is cuz she dont normally do that..the last time she was eating 4 ounces was when she was 2 weeks old..and its so sudden..a few nights ago she had 7 ounes before bed (like normal) and woke up the next day and has only eaten 4 every since then..and i know that she will be awake more often but she wont nap at all..and im no rocket scientist but i know they need atleast one good nap during the day if not 2..its a sudden change thats why im worried..she litterally woke up one day and it was like this

  • Different things effect babies like: gas, teething (still too early), over tired, sick

I would check your baby's temp, if it's fine then consider constipation. If your baby is overtired then it's going to be hard to get her to sleep. You'll just have to try much harder and do more to help her feel comfortable enough to doze off. Babies that age NEED to sleep during the day and at night. One or two weird days without a temp I wouldn't worry about. Anything more of with a fever, go to the ped.

  • 5 hours is too long to wait between feedings for a 2 month old.

  • I'd say 5 hours is long, and NOW she is behaving more typically. More frequent and smaller meals are best for the littlest ones.

  • she wouldnt take a bottle any sooner than 5 hours..your suppose to let the baby set her schedule right? thats what she does, wen she wants to eat, i feed her..and that just so happened to be her time question was asking if something could be wrong due to sudden change of feeding(last time it happened she had thrush, but i know she dont have it now), not asking to be criticized on how i do things.
