Can I slice up red skin potatos tonight to make homefries in the morning?

  • yeah but make sure they are FULLY covered in water, and put some plastic wrap over the top. Ice cubes and a little lemon juice in the water will help them from turning brown as well.

  • yep but keep them in water... potatoes will keep in cold water for a good while. Even longer if you keep them in fresh water... I mean by changing out the old..

  • Yeap, just put in a bowl of cold water and leave in the fridge. You can also microwave the whole potatoes for about 5 minutes, then slice and cover with plastic wrap, won't take as long to bake then.

  • I bake mine in the microwave at night, then let them sit - slice them in the a.m. and fry them up. They cook faster and they're easier to handle when they've had all night to cool down.
