Someone you might have heard of thinks Obama's healthcare plan is evil too?

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called President Barack Obama's health plan "downright evil" Friday in her first online comments since leaving office, saying in a Facebook posting that he would create a "death panel" that would deny care to the neediest Americans.

"The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care," the former Republican vice presidential candidate wrote.

"Such a system is downright evil," Palin wrote on her page, which has nearly 700,000 supporters. She encouraged her supporters to be engaged in the debate.

  • You'd think that if Sarah Palin can figure out that this UHC is just NO GOOD then ANYONE should be able to see it!

  • Just because Sarah Palin said it doesn't make it false. A broken clock is right twice a day.

  • How can you not agree with her? She is speaking the truth! His plan is evil, and that is exactly what he plans on doing to the elderly and disabled. It's disgusting and in-humane.

  • Strange no she is waining about her special needs kid. She should ask herself why did she not do anything for special need kids of Alaska when she was a Governor.

  • This is the exactly reason why i think Palin quit her job as Governor. To be able to criticize and name call the President. JMHO.

  • People like to make fun of Palin for not being very smart.

But that's okay, you don't need to be smart to get this. It's basic high school economics.

In a free market, supply of services (such as doctors visits) catches up with demand. If people find going to medical school is a good investment, more people will go.

But if there's price controls on doctors visits, the demand to see the doctor will go up, but the incentive for people to go to medical school will go down.

So when demand far exceeds supply in a controlled market, you have to ration. And there are only two ways to ration:

    1) Laterally - equal rations for everyone.
    2) Priority - govt deciding, based on stat, who gets treatment and who doesn't.

All countries with govt. health care do one or both of those options, and it's the second option that Sarah (and lots seniors) are expressing fear of.

  • It's not just his health-care bill that's evil. Everything he says, does, and is = EVIL!

  • Anon @ 10:08, it doesn't get any plainer than that. Unfortunately, the people who still support Obama and this disaster-waiting-to-happen healthcare mess are immune to such straight-forward, logical reasoning and are most likely ignorant of such basic laws of economics.

Do they even teach economics in high school anymore? It would make sense that the GOVERNMENT-controlled school system would want the population as ignorant as possible so that they can pass crap like this and get more and more powerful.
