can this prevent u from going into labor

can a bladder infection stop u from going into labor? im almost 39wks and just waiting around to go into labor, im like 2cm dialated and just found out yesterday that i have another bladder infection...im taking antibiotics so no worries or lectures plz...just wondering if this infection could prevent me from going into labor?

  • I don't think it will because it doesn't affect your uterus so much as your bladder....just continue taking your antibiotics like normal. If your doctor thought taking antibiotics to treat a bladder infection would interfere with your ability to go in labor, they probably wouldn't have treated the infection that way....or they at least would have warned you about that. If you're really in doubt, call them. But I think you will be fine.

  • No int wont stop u from going into labor, but the meds u r taking could very well speed it up

  • bladder infections can lead to early labor and could give you a kidney infection

  • I started contracting becouse i had a bladder infection....so it might help :)

  • no, if it gets bad enough and you don't take care of it, it can cause labor. just make sure your drinking plenty of fluids (water and cranberry juice) and taking your meds.
