  • What Causes Constipation? Constipation is usually caused by a disorder of bowel function rather than a structural problem. Common causes of constipation include: Inadequate water intake. Inadequate fiber in the diet. A disruption of regular diet or routine; traveling. Inadequate activity or exercise or immobility. Eating large amounts of dairy products.

  • Too much milk can constipate anybody. Whole milk especially because of the fat content. But 3 sippys a day does not sound like to much to me. My DD is 19 mths and she gets 3 sippy cups of milk a day plus one cup of pediasure. But she has weight issues. My DS on the other hand has issues with constipation and cannot have more than 1 glass of fat free milk a day.

I say if your child is not having issues with the amount of milk they are getting now, dont change anything.
