A friend of mine works in a grocery store and she brought me some Similac Advance formula. (The kind that is already mixed.) The store was going to throw it away b/c it expired August 1st. Is is ok for her to have it? She's 5 weeks old. I have been breast-feeding her but my little brother got put in the hospital for back surgery and may be paralyzed, so she's been staying with DH while I've been at the hospital and I haven't been able to pump enough to last her all day. We're not on WIC either.

I would call the manufacture number on the can and see how far past the expiration date you can use it. Wal-mart does carry a Parents Choice formula for around $9 a can. I used to get if for my daughter because we couldn't get WIC either. I will pray for you brother and your family. I am so sorry that you are going through this. Stay strong!
