Tell me about your budget

Would anyone mind to describe their budget? What do you spend a week on groceries? Entertainment? Utilities? etc. How many are in your family? Where does most of your money go? Mortgage? Cars? etc. This is for an essay for school--please be honest.

  • My SO and I bring in about $3000 a month. We spend about $300 a month on groceries. Rent is $795 a month. Car payment is $270 a month. Utilities is about $60. We try to go on a date everyother week and spend around $100. I go to Target a lot and buy things for the house, so I probably spend around $200 a month or so on random things. I smoke, so that's probably around $70 a month. Formula, diapers, wipes, I spend around $100 a month. Internet/cable is around $80 a month. Gas for the car, about $60 a month. Cell phones, we spend about $100 for the both of us. Whatever's left, we try to save, but I usually go shopping with it lol.
There's just the 3 of us, me (I'm 24), my SO is almost 30, and we have a 5 month old DD.
    Hope this helps!

  • Hubby is Air Force, he brings in about $3000 after taxes. We don't have rent/mortgage because we live in military housing. Nor do we have electric/trash/water/etc because of the fact we live in military housing. We do have a $630 a month car payment, $165 a month for insurance (car and renters), $50 a month for life insurance and dental insurance, $350 a month toward loan/credit card, $120 per month for satellite, $90 for phone and internet, $110 for cell phones, $100 a month for my son's orthodontist bill, $15 a month for my daughter's dance classes, $20 a month for school lunches (when school is in session), $650 per month for food/household items, $300 per month for gas, $20 per month on haircuts, $15 for Netflix, $13 for Onstar. The rest we use for fun or miscellaneous expenses that come up.
