Will graying hair take a perm?

My hair is about 50 % gray, and before the gray it always took a perm really well. Just wondering about now that it's half gray.

  • My mom is a hair stylist, and she always says that it's color or a perm, you can't have both. So if you're not planning on coloring it, then I'd say go for it, as long as your hair is healthy. I made the mistake two months ago of having my mom perm my hair right after I had my daughter; now it's fried!

  • My grandma has a full head of gray hair and still gets her hair permed every so often so yes, it does hold a perm!
