Pre-made formula bottles?

Ok.. so I am going back to work SOON and I am getting nervous about my dd eating, because I breastfeed. I am pumping and freezing, but when I pump I hardly get anything.. plus she constantly wants to eat, so I am going to send formula with as well, just in case. My friend uses these little individual pre-made formula bottles for occasions like that.. just to have just in case. What do you all think about that? I am mainly just nervous because she likes to eat a lot!

  • I'm all for formula and breastfeeding - especially in your case, when you just don't have enough to feed your little one. However, I don't like those pre-made ones, they just... smell kind of weird too! lol.
My ds hates them - but he's okay with fresh made formula... but your dd could definitely be different! :D

  • My son loves the pre-made formula's but they only last an hour after opened and that is the only downfall. Do what you have to do, baby has to eat!

  • My son was a FF baby, and also went to daycare. We'd make his bottles the mornings he went to daycare so it was fresh for that day. It really isn't that big of a deal, you could even make them the night before and put them in the fridge. We used the powder.

  • Just to ease your mind, a BF baby needs 1-1.25 oz an hour when youa re gone, so if youa re pumping 1-2 oz that is GREAT..think 2 oz every 2 hours, yes that is enough.

Beware that if you leave too many oz or if you leave formula they think you expect them to use it. Tell the caregiver how much to give and when to give it, many caregivers have NO idea how to bottlefeed the BF baby.
