  • I usually serve something sweet and fresh fruit, or just sliced up watermelon. I'm actually having a bbq tomorrow and making a chocolate eclair pudding cake...

If the bbq is going to have lots of kids I usually have some ice pops and ice cream on hand too.

  • Grilled fruits, especially pineapple and peaches. Last week I served a thin slice of toasted pound cake toppes with a slice of gilled pineapple, a small scoop of really good vanilla ice cream and sprinkled fresh blueberries on top.

  • If it is an outside barbecue I'd say individual frozen treats- popsicles, ice cream bars. Something that doesn't need a plate and fork or spoon. Although strawberry shortcake has been served at a couple barbecues that I've been to, and it was very good and not a lot for the hosts- a biscuit, strawberries, either frozen or fresh, whipped cream.

  • Strawberries, whip cream and pound or anglefood cake. Make your own sundaes. Rice krispie treats, brownies, cookies ( a tray of a few different choices). Fresh fruit salad with plain or vanilla yogurt. Cupcakes, popsicles, ice cream sandwiches.
