  • You can search for jobs that match your skillset and have a telecommute or remote option. Do you have a former employer you could work for remotely? If you have a computer with high speed internet & Microsoft Office Pro & have at least intermediate MS Office skills, you should be able to find work as a virtual assistant (VA). For more information, go to www.ivaa.org.
Do you have a skill or experience that you can turn into a home based business? I have a friend who makes children's hair accessories in her basement & sells them to boutiques around the Midwest. My husband runs a handyman business from our home. I work from home with three lines of business; I am doing lead generation for a sales and service organization; I do freelance bookkeeping & business organization; I also do career & job search coaching. I am always happy to help cafemoms (and dads) with resumes, cover letters, job search strategy & interview prep.

  • Sure do.  I have created a series of work at home articles on eHow.  I also have a list of companies that hire for work at home via the computer.  You can find all these listings at my website:

Or in my Journal here at Cafemom:

  • There are alot of scams out there. And, I don't want you to fall victim!! It is difficult to know where to start. I will say this...only a business will have start up costs or fees. I work at home job should never charge you, if it does it is a scam.

Here are some websites you can check out.

On this website, I don't use the search option...it brings up mostly nationwide scams. I look at the job posted underneath my date.

  • The site that was reccomended www.WAHM.com is AWESOME. They have a forumas well where you can post questions and see what others have posted. There is also folders/boards for individual companies that you can look through and ask Questions. Everyone on there is really helpful.
I have a home business with Ameriplan, so if you are interested in a business I'd be happy to explain how you can. There is Daily Pay and Benefits. NO cold calling or selling. Good Luck!!

  • I sell candles, what woman doesn't love candles? AFFORDABLE, great smelling, long lasting what's not to love? Compared to the well known Yankee candles, our heritage line is 4 oz more, $6 cheaper. You can earn your kit for free this month with lots of extras. Gold Canyon sells more than canldes though, from a home line to a body line and everything in between. It's a great way to meet new people, have fun, and earn extra cash. • I work at home and absolutely love it! I have 2 little ones at home running around and get to be home with them and work at the same time. We work with a comp that recently won an award with the BBB so its ethics and integrity so it is no scam! We don't have to do parties, we don't have to take inventory, and this is not MLM! Feel free to contact me for more info on my website at www.beingunited.com or you can email me at rebeccabowen@live.com. I would love to answer any questions that you have!
