stripping membranes???

If your cervix is ripe and favorable does stripping your membranes actually help induce labor?

  • It can as it releases prostaglandins. I wouldn't recommend it.

  • It might help, but not really worth it. Walking and sex are much safer, more successful, and more pleasant.

  • I had mine stripped 3 times with my first pregnancy.. and I never actually went into labor.

  • It works for some people. It worked for me. And I didn't think it hurt any worse than a regular pelvic exam.
