Obamas response to Jane Sturm : Take a pill.

Why is it ok for Obama to respond, "maybe she doesn't need surgery, just a pain pill"?The lady's question was WILL THERE BE ANY CONSIDERATION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE A JOY OF LIVING? His response was RUDE and definitely uneducated.

  • How would you word your joy of living consideration in a bill? It is very hard to define joy of living for a whole population of people.

Lets give it a scale 1 to 10 1 is the lowest 10 is the highest
OK if your over 65 and your not enjoying your life on a 5 or better. Then we will just give you enough morphine so that you overdose Catch my sarcasm?

Medical treatment is very individualized. Which is why doctors and patients have to decide the best method of treatment. Also Obama wasn't saying the women should have taken pills instead of getting a pacemaker the clip was edited to make it seem that way.

  • That is my whole point, why is the health care plan not equal for all people, babies all the way to old? Just because someone is old is NOT a good enough reason to "do away with them". AND IF YOU READ the bill that is what they are planning. Gosh you are right Anon:23...you are not smart.

  • They do the same thing now...duh. How is this any different? If there's a heart available for a heart transplant for a 80 year old or a 20 year old, the heart would go to the 20 year old and they'd say the 80 year old wasn't fit enough for surgery. Duh

  • he was naming possibilities if you heard correctly
the woman is 105 sometimes going thru a surgery that old does more damage then good and he basically said if its quality of life you are looking for pain meds may be the solution, but he did not say deffinate, and he cannot determine that, for one he's not a doctor and 2 he was just making an example.
