How much baby food (jar or homemade) should my Ebf 7month old eat?

Most days im lucky at the two solid food feedings if she eats a jar . (one jar for 2 feedings) She is B/f on demand she weighs 18ish lbs.(was 6lbs 4oz at birth) She just seems more interested in b/fing than baby food most of the time... Should i push her to eat more solids? (some days she can clear 1 and a half jars at 1 feeding.) Any thoughts would help THANKS!

  • If your bf her on demand then she is not needing alot of baby food. It also depends on how long you've been feeding her baby food. My son is only 17 almost 18lbs and is 11 months, he was 5lbs at birth, but by 6 months he'd go through two stage one jars at each feeding but had been feeding him baby food since two months. Most baby's when they first start eating baby food will only eat about half a jar at a time because it fills them up a bit quicker.

  • Hello I I am very similar to you!! I have a 7 month old daughter as well and just started solids with her. She weighs about the same too ( 17 pounds)She seems to like eating solids though!! She nurses on demand as well but has more took a liking to the baby food :( Like they said you know she may not need solids yet but I would say just keep introducing them to her get her used to different tastes. I kind of agree with them not needing solids yet but my concern was my daughter needing more food or you know something solid in her tummy thats why I started solids. Just keep trying at it its not easy, takes patients then they will get it.
