about the pre-k program

Hi I have kids that are getting ready for the pre-k program and need to see how other mom's see about it what would you do if they cut the pre-k program would you stand by or would you fight about it thanks and have a great day

  • Not sure which Pre-K program you're talking about, but there are plenty of preschools for 4 and 5 years olds....both at community centers like YMCA's and private Church based programs.

    Is it being canceled due to low enrollment? What reason did they give? If it's due to low enrollment can parents of the children pay more to make up the difference?!

    I would keep looking for preschools.

  • (Personally, my experience - AS a pre-school teacher - has been that the longer a child is allowed to spend his/her days at home with mama, except for MAYBE a couple of short play mornings a week, the better off the child is emotionally, intellectually and physically. Mothers are being duped if they buy the lie that it is BETTER for them, or for their children, or for our society to have children spending LESS time with their parents. This is true from the earliest years - delay schooling until age 7; on up through the grades - aim for shorter school days; and into high school - family time every evening & parents take the time to be at the high schooler's art or sports practices and events.)

  • There is no low enrollment and they said that the state is cutting the spending for the schools so headstart and the pre-k program is going to be cut but the budget wasnt passed just yet so i dont know what is going to take place. thanks and have a great day

  • right now the pre-k program that my kids are getting ready for, i just got the letter and it said that the program was suspended and when i called to talk to the director about it she said that they have to suspend the program until the budget is passed and will let us know. So i just dont know
